Avetik Isahakyan House-museum
The house-museum of the famous Armenian writer Avetik Isahakyan was opened in 1963. The writer spent the last 10 years of his life in that house.
The designer of the house was Perchanush Msryan. Isahakyan himself chose the tuff stone as the stone for the walls of his house. The house has two floors, it can be compared to a chapel.
The house was always filled with honored guests.
The poet's office has a special reputation among visiting guests. The desk with his personal belongings, photos of his relatives and of course the last books he read are placed in his office. One should not be indifferent to the poet's personal library, the size of which may seem enormous to visitors. After seeing his bedroom and memorial room, you can go to the cozy garden, where the master planted trees with his own hands. They are still standing.
The main goal of the museum is to show the atmosphere in which Avetik Isahakyan created, to remind about the culture created by the poet.
Museum life is always filled with various events, lectures, demonstrations and exhibitions. Musical matinees, debates, open classes, scientific readings, book presentations, meetings with famous people are organized. And on the "museum night" loved by everyone, the museum presents itself with events in which people of different age groups participate.
